In March, with any luck, the sun starts to shine a little warmer and signs of winter begin to melt away.
This is when everyone starts to wander outside more and Spring Fever sets in.
Everyone is dreaming of warm summer days, swimming in the bay and relaxing around a campfire at night. It all seems so close, yet its months away.
Soon the birds will be in full song and the daffodils and forget-me-nots will be popping up. This just makes being outside on cool damp days worth it.
March and April is when we really want the warmer days and cooler nights. All the cherry orchards depend on that to have a good crop. Cherry blossoms typically happen mid-May and picking beings mid-July. The timing for blossoms and picking is all dependent on the temperatures earlier in the season.
Here at the motel, we begin our outside work as soon as the weather allows us to. Sometimes that’s not until the end of March or even into April. We are anxious to get outside work under way because not only is opening day right around the corner, but we are all itching to get outside! Even it means we have to work!
By the end of the month, for sure, we are all kicked into high gear getting ready to welcome the upcoming season and all of our guests!
